Toronto Comicon Fan Appreciation Show

long title, but it gets the point across;

here are a couple of doodles that i did over the weekend, of which the recipients were kind enough to send me an image back.

the first (which was i think my first doodle of the show) is of luna moth (uhm - i think, a character from the escapist) and the other is of stargirl... uhm i think again, i'm terrible at this.

cheers!

a girl friday on a sunday.

this girl friday did not spring forth from my imagination but was rather inspired by rebekah, a co-worker and friend of my good buddy mr. coughler. sometimes that boy's life is too hard.

where have the days gone?

well it seems 2008 has arrived and i haven't updated since october of 2007, sad, very sad.

well first off, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all who might actually still be perusing this blog!

so, what have i been up to? well, it's been a busy year since the end of last summer's convention season. first there is the weekly webcomic i do with rob coughler; BUTTERNUTSQUASH, which is thankfully on hiatus wit hsome great guest strips by some of the industries sooper talents! please check it out if you can!

i also launched KUKUBURI my solitary venture into webcomics. we're just about to hit the halfway mark in the story, so if you haven't done so yet please give it a read :)

aside from other corporate work (some pinup girls, a children's storybook) which i'll share once i can, i've also been working on a three issue story for DC's JSA: CLASSIFIEDS starring WILDCAT! written by a man i've been itching to work with for ages (ever since i read HAWAIIAN DICK) the talented B. Clay Moore and coloured by Dave McCaig (of NEXTWAVE and THE OTHER SIDE fame) this comic has been a joy to work on!

the first issue of the arc will be hitting stores on FEBRUARY 27th, so please contact your local comic's retailer and get them to order you a copy of JSA: CLASSIFIED #35 and make DC happy and myself look good ;)

below is a sneak peek from issue one.

thanks for the support!

cheers,

ramon.

return from san diego

last week i attended the san diego comic con. it amazes me how that show grows exponentially every year! i didn't have a table, i simple wandered about and enjoyed the show, and spent quite a bit of time on the beach as well in an effort to give myself a bit of a holiday.

with my busy schedule of late i haven't had a chance to doodle up much. so for now i thought i'd share the "tip-in" image from the hard cover edition of MACHINATIONS OF DOOM. the book is available through Palladium books, and pretty soon i plan to be carrying it on my website as well. as soon as i get that darned store set up!

alpha flight

earlier this summer i designed and did the artwork for a local convention's badges. being canadian, and the con (the paradise toronto comicon) being primarily superhero oriented i we decided to use alpha flight to create signature badges akin to what adam hughes did for heroes con.

i was quite happy with the badge design and art, so i thought i'd finally share. cheers.
